Z-A Ranked Mega Stone Reward Bug Officially Addressed

Official Pokemon channels have acknowledged an ongoing bug with Pokemon Legends: Z-A which prevents players from getting the Mega Stone rewards they expect from ranked battles. The issue hasn’t been fixed yet, but Pokemon Legends: Z-A players have been offered some insight regarding the issue and what will be done about it.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A players have been participating in the game’s ranked battles, which pit four players against each other in online real-time Pokemon battles. Pokemon Legends: Z-A kicked off season 2 of its ranked battles on November 5, with a number of rewards that players can potentially pick up depending upon their performance. This includes Delphoxite, the Mega Stone used to turn Delphox into Mega Delphox, and a second chance at Greninjite, which was originally available in the first season. However, some players who have reached the ranks necessary to receive the stones haven’t gotten them.

After players reported not getting the Mega Stones they expected from participating in the new ranked battle season, official Pokemon channels issued a tweet acknowledging that the team is aware of the issue. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been an announcement regarding when a patch will be pushed out to fix the problem, as the cause is still under investigation. The machine-translated tweet indicates that measures will be taken to ensure impacted players “can obtain it,” but didn’t specify how at the time.

Given that the current ranked season of Pokemon Legends: Z-A has barely begun, hopefully the team will be able to amend this issue before it can impact the majority of the playerbase. With Delphoxite being rewarded at Rank S and Greninjite redistributed at Rank Y, those who have yet to participate in the ranked battles may want to wait until the problem is amended. The season is currently slated to end on November 25, so even if the fix takes a bit longer, there should be plenty of time remaining to participate. There’s also a chance the ranked season could be extended to help make up for the mistake.

While the majority of those responding to the news seem to be taking the matter in stride, it would certainly be a good idea to get these issues ironed out before long. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will receive its first DLC in the form of Mega Dimension on December 10, and bugs like this could potentially sour players at the notion of spending another $29.99 on the game. With any luck, a patch will arrive swiftly, and no major bugs emerge prior to the DLC’s release date.
