Singapore Stocks Open Higher As Strong Exports Lift Market Mood


Singapore shares opened slightly higher on Oct 20, supported by stronger-than-expected export data that boosted confidence in the city-state’s trade outlook.

The Straits Times Index (STI) edged up to around 4,340 points in early trade, as gains in industrial and electronics stocks offset mild weakness in banks and REITs. Analysts expect the benchmark to stay range-bound between 4,300 and 4,350 amid cautious global sentiment.
