As it has now been six months since Rockstar shocked the world with the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, fans are eager to see more from what will undoubtedly be the biggest video game release of all time.
This is now the second time in less than a week that a mysterious update has ignited theories of potential Grand Theft Auto 6 news. In the final days of October, Rockstar Games updated its website with a new design, which many fans believe is in preparation for a potential third GTA 6 trailer, or at the very least, some new screenshots and information. As with every wild fan theory, Rockstar has remained quiet on the matter, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that news is on the horizon, as the official PlayStation Store page for the next Grand Theft Auto game has now received an unexpected update.
GTA+ Added to Grand Theft Auto 6 PS Store Page
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 aren’t live yet, but a new update to the game’s PlayStation Store page does seem to have added the ability to purchase GTA+, which is Rockstar Games’ own subscription service. There isn’t much else going on with the page, outside of the ability to wishlist the game, but fans think the recent Rockstar Games website update and the addition of GTA+ on Grand Theft Auto 6‘s PlayStation Store page mean the studio is gearing up for something big. “We are getting trailer 3 soon,” one user speculated on Reddit, while some even believe that the next trailer will arrive later today.
The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 came back in May, shortly after Rockstar announced a disappointing delay for the title. For those who don’t want to do the math, that means it has been exactly six months since any information about the next GTA game was released. If Rockstar follows its past traditions, theories of a third trailer dropping “soon” might not be entirely unrealistic. The wait between Grand Theft Auto 5‘s second and third trailers was a little over 5 months, while the gap between Red Dead Redemption 2‘s was 7 months.
There are also just two days left until the next Take-Two Interactive earnings call, as Rockstar Games’ parent company prepares to update its investors on sales figures and future projects. While this might not seem relevant to Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar and Take-Two have been known to share new details on big titles prior to these investor calls as a way to please shareholders during the meeting. It’s not always the case, but fans are hoping that Grand Theft Auto 6‘s third trailer arrives just before the company’s earnings call this week.
