Apple may be heading into its September iPhone launch event with a supply problem.
Analyst Tim Culpan warns that stocks of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Apple’s first foldable iPhone could be severely constrained due to the global memory chip shortage.
Word on the street is that Apple is struggling to secure enough memory chips for its upcoming flagship models. The supply crunch is reportedly so severe that TSMC has around US$1 billion worth of unpackaged processors sitting idle while waiting for the necessary memory components.
