The Leapmotor C10 is the newest Cat A electric SUV in town

There’s a new Cat A electric SUV in town, and it’s called the C10. It comes from Leapmotor, the newest Chinese EV brand to launch in Singapore.

The Leapmotor C10 is a mid-size SUV and is roughly the size of a Tesla Model Y or Toyota Rav4. In terms of styling, it looks like a mix of the Hyundai Kona and Xpeng G6.

Given its size, the boot space is decent. It offers 435 litres of carrying capacity with the rear seats up, and that goes up to 1,410 litres when you fold them down.

The interior is minimalistic like most modern EVs. The instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch display, while a larger 14.6-inch screen serves as the infotainment display. There are no buttons, which means you’ll have to control the HVAC via the screen.

The C10 has been specifically tuned to meet our Cat A COE requirements. Therefore, its single motor produces 134hp and 320nm of torque. It drives the rear wheels and propels the C10 from 0 to 100km/h in 10.7 seconds. Top speed is a claimed 170km/h. The battery capacity is 69.9kWh, and the claimed range is 419km.

On paper, the C10 looks like a compelling option for shoppers looking for a mid-size SUV – particularly for customers whose priority is size and practicality. It’s easily one of the larger SUVs for its price.
