Toyota bZ4X electric SUV now available in Singapore

It has taken a while, but the bZ4X is finally available to the masses here in Singapore. This is Toyota’s first-ever BEV (battery electric vehicle) and it’s a compact SUV designed to go up against the likes of the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and more.

Those who have been following Toyota closely will know that the bZ4X was first unveiled in 2022, and that version was only available in Singapore as part of a car-sharing program. This new facelift version changes that and will be available to purchase.

To start, the bZ4X is powered by a single motor producing 223hp and 268nm. It only drives the front wheel, and Toyota claims a century sprint time of 7.4 seconds. This also means it’ll need a Cat B COE and that its road tax will set you back S$1,895 a year.

The infotainment display is 14-inches and the car features a multi-function steering wheel.

The battery capacity is 73.1kWh and Toyota claims a range of 478km. It supports 150kW DC charging, which means it charges its battery from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes.

Inside, there’s a sizeable 14-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which is paired with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Passengers will be happy to know there’s a large panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade. The centre console features two wireless charging pads, and the seats have leatherette upholstery.

The bZ4X features Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which means safety features like pre-collision detection, adaptive cruise, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, and more. It also has eight airbags and 360-degree cameras.
