Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Gears, Halo & Persona 6


Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase 2026 delivered what many fans had been hoping for: a stronger focus on first-party games, a handful of long-dormant franchises making a return, and a few surprises that nobody saw coming. From Persona 6 finally stepping into the spotlight to a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved and the return of Spyro the Dragon, here’s a quick look at the biggest announcements from the show.

Gears of War: E-Day

The Coalition’s long-awaited Gears of War prequel finally received a release date. Gears of War: E-Day launches on 6 October 2026 and revisits Emergence Day, the catastrophic event that kicked off the series. Interestingly, Microsoft also confirmed that this one will remain an Xbox console exclusive.

Halo: Campaign Evolved

Master Chief is heading back to where it all began. Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, rebuilt with modern visuals, remastered audio and new prequel missions. It launches on 28 July 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PC and PS5.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

We got a first look at the new DMZ experience in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Players will deploy solo or with a squad into a volatile conflict zone as an off-the-books asset tasked with recovering advanced military technology left in the wake of war. The game launches on 23 October.

Senua

Senua was a surprise reveal at the show, a new action-adventure game from Ninja Theory, set in the Hellblade universe. Senua, a Celtic warrior, is trapped between life and death in a fractured vision of purgatory. She must fight to reach the afterlife and reunite with those she loved and lost, battling forces that threaten everything she believes in. Senua will arrive in 2027.
