ARC Raiders players are calling for developer Embark Studios to release an urgent hotfix, as some say they are unable to complete the first Expedition Project due to a severe bug. Although it does not appear to be affecting a large number of the ARC Raiders community, those who are being impacted by the bug are essentially locked out of progressing through the Expedition, which is due to depart in just a few days’ time.
Like many other extraction shooters on the market, ARC Raiders features a progression wipe system. However, it does work slightly differently from the traditional wipes that gamers are used to. Instead of a set timeline where all players experience the wipe together, ARC Raiders gives players the choice via its Expedition Project. For those who have progressed far enough where they feel like a reset is appropriate, they can begin their Expedition, donating tons of resources to build a Caravan and leave the Rust Belt for good. Of course, those who choose to reset will receive a new character with some additional benefits, such as extra Stash space and up to 5 skill points, depending on the value of their Stash at the time of the Expedition’s departure.
If You’re a Jerk in ARC Raiders, Chances Are You Will Be Matched With Similar Players
A developer at Embark Studios seems to confirm that ARC Raiders does pay attention to certain things when placing players in matches.
Embark says the system is done differently from other games in order to give players a choice, but fans have already made it clear that they are disappointed with the rewards associated with ARC Raiders‘ first Expedition. This is largely because it costs players 5 million in overall Stash value in order to obtain all of the 5 skill points on offer. Players believe this system actively discourages players from using their best weapons and gear before a wipe, with many saying that the best part of an upcoming progression wipe is that players can lose their items without much concern. As such, many have said they won’t be partaking in the first Expedition. But some players who are gearing up for the first wipe have been met with an unfortunate bug.
ARC Raiders Bug Prevents Players From Completing Expedition
In a recent post on the ARC Raiders subreddit, user Mrpityoka77 has been attempting to call attention to a severe bug preventing them from progressing past page two of the Expedition Project. The user shows an image of their current Expedition, which has been completed up to page two, but with no option to progress any further. Each page requires players to contribute a certain number of materials in order to build the Caravan being used for the Expedition, but this user is seemingly unable to progress any further than page two. Thankfully, the post has garnered over 8,000 upvotes and has hundreds of comments in support of the user, which means Embark may be able to get a fix published before the Expedition’s departure next week.
Another user chimed in to show how they are also stuck due to the same bug, but this individual can’t even get past page one. The original poster says they have reached out to Embark multiple times, where a Community Manager for the studio says they have already received multiple reports of the same issue, and that the information has been passed along to the team. Players were likely hoping that the most recent ARC Raiders update would fix this issue, but nothing in the patch notes makes any mention of a fix for the Expedition bug.
