As part of the PC Gaming Show, developer Fullbright, the studio behind Gone Home and Tacoma, has unveiled its next narrative-driven exploration title Springs, Eternal. Set to launch exclusively for PC via Steam in 2026, Springs, Eternal follows a mysterious new tale of deep emotional discovery and heartfelt memories hidden in the darkness.
A variety of narrative-driven first-person games have risen to prominence over the years, with the likes of What Remains of Edith Finch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Stanley Parable, Firewatch, and Fullbright’s Gone Home among the many engaging stories to receive critical and commercial praise. Looking to join the ranks of these beloved games and others that provide an immersive experience without combat, Fullbright’s Springs, Eternal once again transports players to a familiar yet otherworldly location that is equally welcoming and unsettling.

Springs, Eternal Official Trailer Teases Hauntingly Beautiful Setting and Story
Set in the secluded retreat of Stillwater Springs, Fullbright’s Springs, Eternal takes players on an explorative journey through dark, winding, wooden paths surrounding an eerily dreamlike fog-shrouded lodge. Players will make their way through the uneasy forests and meet a curious assortment of guests at the hot spring in the dead of night. As they progress through the mystifying resort, players will be able to piece together the humanistic and deeply heartfelt memory of the long-forgotten romance that first introduced them to Stillwater Springs. While the paths to uncovering one’s past are shrouded in an ominous darkness, the gradually expanding world will welcome players into an emotional journey of self-discovery and finding one’s purpose towards the future. Flashbacks will create a portrait of two people who once came together to share a life as one, and players will need to carry onward to discover what lies ahead.
Springs, Eternal offers lo-fi evocative graphics to express the almost uncanny essence of Stillwater Springs, captured in shimmering pixels and misty fog, while the audiovisual design evokes an experience reminiscent of late 90s-era PC and home console games for a truly ethereal journey. Players will be able to speak with over a dozen unique characters, including a group of philosophers deep in debate, a tattooist who claims to be a seer, and a set of young lovers seeking their destiny. By learning the backstories of each NPC encountered, players will come to realize that some of the guests’ stories overlap with their own and will need to discover what connects them.
One brand-new feature included in Springs, Eternal that has not yet been offered in previous games by Fullbright is a branching dialogue system, which allows players to uncover new conversation threads and guest interactions that span the entire property of the resort. Utilizing clever discussion and observation powers, players will be able to unearth all that Stillwater Springs has to offer. From tucked-away pools, caverns, and other odd attractions around the lodge, new discoveries are always lying in wait. But players will need to be careful – the other guests caution of a certain danger lurking within the woods, and a trusty flashlight may illuminate more than just memories hiding in the unknown corners of the darkness.
Players have long-voiced an appreciation for games that prioritize storytelling over high-octane action-packed sequences with loads of combat and grinding. Fans who enjoy a more casual gaming experience with emotional depth, subtle world-building, and simple gameplay have enjoyed Fullbright’s previous narrative-driven entries, and Springs, Eternal looks to offer a similar experience with its own unique quirks and new additions. Springs, Eternal is available now for wishlisting on Steam and is slated to launch sometime in 2026.
