It’s a great thing when the going’s good, but with Helldivers 2‘s recent performance problems, it hasn’t always been a smooth ride to face up to the often-angry player base and address their concerns. Regardless, Jorjani’s role goes a long way towards helping players feel that their voices are being heard by Arrowhead Game Studios, and that the developer has its ear to the ground on what gamers want to see from the future of Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 CEO Wants To See Stratagem Customization
Over in the Helldivers 2 Discord, one user asked about the possibility of Stratagem customization in the future. The player claimed they wanted to “change the HMG on the back of my FRV for a Maxigun or a grenade launcher,” to which Jorjani claimed he’s “100% for more customization. Personally speaking.” Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Helldivers 2 Stratagems will be customizable any time soon, but it’s good to know the developer is aware and CEO Jorjani is open to the idea. The fact that he does reiterate that the “more customization” approach is his personal opinion does put a slight dampener on it, as it may not necessarily represent the wider views of the Helldivers 2 studio.
As it stands, players have to use Stratagems exactly as they are. They do have to choose their Strategem loadout before every Helldivers 2 mission, but this isn’t quite the same as customizing the specifics of each one. The user in the Helldivers 2 Discord wanting to customize their Fast Reconnaissance Vehicle with a grenade launcher in place of a HMG is actually a great example of how this could work in practice. Not wholesale customization, but small tweaks that players could make to tailor towards their own play style. In practice, this would be a massive update that has the potential to change the Helldivers 2 meta, so it’s understandable that it might not be top of Arrowhead’s priorities right now. But for the depth it could add to the game, it would surely be worthwhile at some point.
As it stands, customization in Helldivers 2 is limited to weapons and characters. It’s not a massive amount, although there were recent leaks that suggested Helldivers 2 could be getting ship customization in the future. Despite this, it’s clear that it has the potential for so much more customization options. It’s difficult to imagine how players having more options could prove to be a bad thing for the game.
