Pokemon Legends: Z-A came out just three weeks ago to a mixed reception, with some fans of the series loving it as an exploration game with tons of customization options and others disliking its gameplay loop and how it changes the tried and true turn-based formula for battles. Even though the game came out very recently, there is already a new DLC trailer showing some of the features and returning Pokemon to expect when it launches on December 10. Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Evolutions play a huge part in its hype and success, and it’s no wonder that the DLC will add more. However, today’s trailer didn’t just showcase Mega Chimecho and Baxcalibur, but also all the remaining 17 Megas from the DLC.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Chimecho and Baxcalibur are already being received well by fans due to improved designs over the original critters, and many players are wondering what the main activities in Hyperspace Lumiose will look like. While there are some clues about potential roguelike features for the DLC, one of the main draws for Mega Dimension is that it will include multiple new Mega Evolutions to toy with, as well as many returning Pokemon. Considering that both Chimecho and Baxcalibur were already leaked to have a new Mega, this acts as confirmation for all the other Mega Evolutions on the leaked list. This includes:
- Raichu X (Electric, possibly Electric/Dark)
- Raichu Y (Electric, possibly Electric/Fighting)
- Chimecho (Psychic/Steel)
- Absol (TBD, probably retains Dark and inverts the current Mega Absol design by making the black part dominant and the white part accessory)
- Staraptor (TBD)
- Garchomp (TBD, probably loses Ground in favor of either Water or Fire)
- Lucario (TBD, probably loses Steel in favor of Psychic)
- Heatran (TBD, probably remains Fire/Steel)
- Darkrai (TBD)
- Golurk (TBD)
- Meowstic (TBD)
- Crabominable (TBD)
- Golisopod (TBD)
- Magearna (TBD)
- Zeraora (TBD, probably remains Electric or gains Fighting)
- Scovillain (TBD, probably remains Grass/Fire)
- Glimmora (TBD)
- Tatsugiri (TBD)
- Baxcalibur (Dragon/Ice)
Scovillain and Heatran are likely to retain their original types because they’re the only Pokemon with them. Garchomp can easily build on Pokedex entries about lava or play into its shark-like appearance. Lucario could gain Psychic to better reflect its nature as the Aura Pokemon.
Say Hello to Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s List of Confirmed DLC Mega Evolutions
The leaked list was reported on Twitter by Centro Leaks after dataminers found scrubbed data for all the various Megas and their Pokedex numbers in the game files when Pokemon Legends: Z-A came out. The list didn’t include Mega Heatran, Darkrai, and Zeraora, as they had already been leaked due to their Mega Stones being found in the game’s files.
Baxcalibur being on the list is particularly interesting because dataminers had doubts about the list of Mega Evolutions due to the leaked Pokedex for Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s DLC not having data for Gen 9 critters. However, Baxcalibur is very much in the game, and so is Annihilape, proving that the leaks were true all along, and so are the leaked Mega Evolutions for the remaining Gen 9 Pokemon – Scovillain, Glimmora, and Tatsugiri.
Since Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Pyroar combines the gender differences for male and female Pyroar in a single Mega, it’s plausible that Tatsugiri will also get a Mega that combines its different colors.
Another interesting detail is that both Magearna and Glimmora are on the list, and they have a flower-like appearance that recalls that of the Ultimate Weapon or even Ange in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This could be a coincidence, but it seems likely that these two Pokemon will have Mega Evolutions that resemble the Ultimate Weapon from Gen 6 games or Ange. What the new DLC Megas will look like remains to be seen, but with Chimecho and Baxcalibur confirmed, this list should be almost entirely accurate, if not completely.
