Singapore will host the Pokemon World Championships for the first time in 2027, bringing some of the world’s leading Pokemon players here for three days of TCG and video game battles.
The tournament will run from 13 to 15 August at the Singapore Expo. Interestingly, the event will not remain there for the entire weekend. Championship Sunday, when the various grand finals are held, will move across the island to the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokemon World Championships in San Francisco, which concluded yesterday. It is a pretty big prize for Singapore: The event has only previously ventured outside the United States three times, visiting Vancouver in 2013, London in 2022 and Yokohama in 2023. Singapore will therefore become only its fourth overseas host, as well as the first in South-east Asia.
