Pokemon 30th anniversary Singapore events

If you have ever wondered what it would look like to have all 27 first partner Pokemon gathered in one place, you will be able to find out at Jewel Changi Airport this November. From Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle to the newer Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, every starter from the nine generations of Pokemon games will appear together in a parade at the Forest Valley for only the first time, anywhere in the world.

And this is just one part of a larger series of events being held in Singapore for Pokemon’s 30th anniversary. On 7 and 8 November, Changi Airport, Jewel and The Kallang will effectively become three different Pokemon playgrounds, with stage shows, Meet and Greets, and an interactive fun run taking place across the same weekend.

Personally, the Pokemon Run 30: Singapore Edition at The Kallang is the most interesting event, as it is designed more like a real-life Pokemon adventure than a conventional fun run. Participants will choose their first partner Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle) before making their way through a course filled with Gym Battles, wild Pokemon encounters, themed checkpoints and even the chance to evolve their chosen partner.

Registered participants will also receive a runner’s kit that includes a Uniqlo-designed event T-shirt and even highly sought-after TCG packs from the 30th Anniversary series. Registration details for the run are available on the official event website

Changi Airport and Jewel, meanwhile, will host PokeXciting!, a party-style celebration that will also be held in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok. Besides the parade at Jewel, Terminal 3 will have Pokemon stage shows that features a special PokeXciting! Pikachu (some are calling it Afrokachu haha!), which will wear a differently coloured outfit in each participating city – Singapore gets a blue version.

There will also be more Meet and Greets and photo spots, while the Pokemon Experience Zone at Terminal 3’s Departure Hall will let visitors play Pokemon games on the Nintendo Switch 2 or try learning the Pokemon Trading Card Game for free. Jewel will also be holding a separate Trading Card Game Quiz Rally that features enlarged cards of all 27 first partner Pokemon.

The celebrations will continue beyond the main November weekend. From 3 November, shoppers with qualifying receipts at Changi Airport and Jewel can purchase or redeem anniversary merchandise such as plush toys, travel blankets, luggage and umbrellas. Changi Airport will also display Christmas-themed Pokemon decorations until the end of 2026 before switching to Lunar New Year ones in early 2027.

Pokemon GO players are not forgotten too, as they can take part in a Singapore in-game event on 7 and 8 November, which includes Timed Research, a GO Stamp Rally and the chance to catch the Singapore-exclusive PokeXciting! Pikachu. A cross-region Stamp Rally beginning on 12 September will also encourage particularly committed Trainers to visit all five participating Asian cities to collect their different coloured Pikachu.
