Samsung’s latest generation of foldable smartphones is off to a flying start. The Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Galaxy Z Flip8 have set a new pre-order record in South Korea. According to The Korea Times, Samsung received more than 1.44 million pre-orders for the new Galaxy Z lineup during its seven-day reservation period.
The achievement eclipses Samsung’s previous record holder, the Galaxy Note10, which amassed 1.38 million pre-orders over 11 days in 2019. It also comfortably surpasses the Galaxy S26 series, which recorded an impressive 1.35 million pre-orders earlier this year.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy Z Fold8 was the standout performer, accounting for about 70% of all pre-orders. Korean mobile carriers reported similar buying trends, with more than half of their customers opting for Samsung’s new wider foldable. The strong demand indicates strong consumer demand for new foldable form factors.
