Razer has released a new hall effect keyboard called the Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic 8kHz (we’ll be keeping it to just the Huntsman V3 HE for short). In any other world, it would be a pretty ordinary announcement, as far as keyboards go – there are already plenty of hall effect boards to go around.
However, it’s unique in Razer’s case, as the company has typically shunned hall effect switches.

In fact, they had a whole article about why they specifically chose not to pursue the tech in their boards, the reasoning being that keystroke consistency was “less than favourable” due to the properties of hall effect magnets, and that they could achieve similar latency performance with their own optical switches.
