Singtel retains Singapore’s best mobile network crown as StarHub races ahead on speed, Opensignal says

Opensignal has published its July 2026 Singapore Mobile Network Experience Report, and Singtel again takes Best Network, the title given to the operator with the strongest overall showing across the firm’s national metrics. Underneath that, the arithmetic has shifted. StarHub now owns both overall speed awards, M1 posts the largest single improvement of any operator, and SIMBA, of all networks, sits second on reliability.

The report covers the 90-day window from 1 April to 29 June 2026, measuring what users on Singapore’s four nationwide operators actually experienced rather than laboratory or peak-speed figures.

In total:

  • Singtel finished with nine awards, six outright and three shared, down from seven sole wins in December
  • StarHub ended up with seven, three outright and four shared, up from a single marquee outright win in December
  • Singtel secured the Best Network finishing by taking Reliability and Consistent Quality outright while sharing Time on Network

A modest retreat for Singtel and a modest recovery for StarHub, then, but not a change of guard.

Reliability measures how consistently users connect and finish essential tasks, browsing, calls, standard-definition video, without interruption. Singtel scores 927 points, SIMBA 909, StarHub 826, M1 818. Singtel gained 10 points since December and SIMBA six, stretching the lead to 18 points from 15.

SIMBA finishing ahead of both StarHub and M1 deserves more attention than it will get. The newest entrant runs on less spectrum than the three incumbents and is currently under regulatory investigation, yet it places second on the metric Opensignal’s own US Household Survey 2023 found consumers value most after cost. Of 55,322 respondents, 19 percent named reliability as the deciding factor in choosing a carrier. Only 7 percent named speed.
