When I first saw Dell’s Alienware 39 5K OLED gaming monitor at Computex 2026, it was love at first sight. It was large, bright and properly sharp, while its 21:9 aspect ratio and gentle 1500R curve gave games a sense of scale without wrapping the display too aggressively around me. I saw it again more recently at a private Dell media event in Singapore, where the controlled environment gave me more time to look closely at the panel.
But there was still one rather important detail missing at both showings: its price.
Dell has now answered that question. The Alienware 39 5K OLED Gaming Monitor, otherwise known as the AW3926QW, is available in Singapore for $1,529 (inclusive of GST).
That price caught me by surprise. Ok, to be fair $1,529 is certainly not cheap for a gaming monitor, but it is still much lower than I expected for an ultrawide OLED display running at 5K (more on this below) and with a 165Hz refresh rate. For comparison’s sake, the other ultrawide 5K OLED gaming monitor that we reviewed recently, LG’s UltraGear GX9, costs twice as much at $2,999 although some retailers sell it at a discount. It is also larger at 45-inch, so both monitors are not identical, but they occupy roughly the same rarefied corner of the gaming monitor market.
What does 5K even mean?

There is a small qualification to the “5K” name, however. The AW3926QW has 5,120 pixels across, but a conventional 16:9 5K wide display has a resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels. Alienware’s monitor has only 2,160 pixels vertically because it uses a wider 21:9 format. It is therefore more accurately described as 5K2K, or essentially a 4K display extended sideways to provide more horizontal workspace.
