In Phasmophobia, the Ouija Board is a cursed object that lets you communicate directly with the ghost. You can use the Ouija Board to ask the ghost questions about itself, including its motives and behaviors, location, cause of death, and age, or ask it to tell you your sanity level, to reveal the boneâs location, and more. The ghost will respond to valid questions using the board, either indicating âyes,â âno,â or spelling out its answer using the numbers and letters on the board. If youâre feeling brave, you can even prompt the ghost to play a game of hide-and-seek with you.
To activate the board, simply pick it up, place it on a flat surface, and press the use button. Youâll know itâs active because the planchette (a black, upside-down heart piece) drops onto the board. You can then use the gameâs voice chat or text-based UI to ask your questions. Just note that the text-based UI options are more limited than the voice chat ones. If the planchette doesnât move, youâve asked an invalid question; if it does, then your question has been successful.
As with all Phasmophobiaâs cursed objects, using the Ouija Board doesnât come without consequence. Every successful question zaps a percentage of the user’s sanity, ranging from 5% (for questions less critical to the investigation) to 50% (for questions that will greatly aid your investigation). If you ask a question that requires more sanity than you have, or donât deactivate the board safely, the board breaks, and a cursed hunt is triggered.
