Soon, TikTok will have stricter detection of certain types of AI-generated content, including political, current events, financial advice, and medical topics.
This is one of many changes underway for TikTok as the platform moves to a more informed approach to AI-generated content, as mentioned in its newsroom update here.
What would TikTok consider as AI-generated spam?
In its announcement, TikTok defines AI-generated spam as mass-produced content that “crowds out” authentic creators, such as HardwareZone’s TikTok channel (all authentic, albeit a shameless self-plug).
In its efforts to combat spammy AI slop, TikTok itself said it removed 86 million fake accounts in the first three months of 2026.
