The Best Fantasy Book Box Sets Are on Sale for Prime Day

As much as I love how convenient it is to read books on my Kindle, there’s just something magical about reading an actual physical book from time to time. This is where my personal library comes into play. I do the majority of my reading digitally, but I have a separate collection of some of my favorite books just sitting on my shelf waiting to be re-read at my leisure. Buying physical books can get expensive, though, which is why I’m always on the lookout for good book deals to slowly grow my collection.

With Amazon Prime Day happening right now, we’re in the peak zone for deals on book box sets. These are partial or full series collections that can turn any shelf into a bookshelf pretty much instantly. The deals this year are especially good on some of the most popular fantasy books of all time, all of which I’ve gathered for you here.

Top Fantasy Book Box Set Deals Today

The overall best box set deal right now is on The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Deluxe Pocket-sized book set. Amazon launched this deal earlier this June and it has consistently been a top-seller all month long. It’s not hard to see why, at $24.92 you get all three Lord of the Rings books and The Hobbit in a really nice looking holder. Plus all of the books are actually meant to be read and come conveniently travel-sized. J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece of fantasy at the heart of the entire genre and absolutely belongs in your fantasy book collection.

Speaking of great fantasy authors, George R.R. Martin’s 5-book Game of Thrones collection is currently at its lowest price of 2026. This includes all of the novels in A Song of Ice an Fire, which still isn’t actually a fnished series. We’re still waiting on Martin to actually finish Winds of Winter (even though that may never happen), but in the meantime his first five books are still excellent.

For fans of romance, the Twilight Saga Deluxe Hardcover edition has also dropped to its lowest price ever. Stephanie Meyer’s vampire romance series may not be as popular as it was back when the Twilight movies were still getting released, but it’s still an excellent read. These books helped usher in an entire era of Romantasy that has taken Booktok by storm over the last few years.

If you’re more interested in a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe is also an excellent place to start a collection. Amazon is currently offering a Lightning deal on the Stormlight Archives box set, which gets you the first four books at a major discount for a limited time. The books themselves are pretty lengthy, so you’re getting a lot of book for that price. This is a great series to add to your collection before the Apple TV adaptation of the series becomes a reality.

In a similar vein as Brandon Sanderson’s books, you can also get the first three novels in the Red Rising series at its lowest price ever. Pierce Brown does an excellent job of weaving together fantasy with bits of science and technology. I’d also recommend checking out the Dune 6-book box set. It includes all of Frank Herbert’s Dune novels, which get pretty wild in the later books. This is a great deal on these books ahead of Dune 3 releasing in theaters later this year.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (16GB)

Right now is one of the best times of the year to buy books at a discount, but it’s also a great time to pick up one of the latest Kindle devices for cheap. If you’re looking for something straightforward that just lets you easily read books, I’d recommend checking out the Kindle Paperwhite deal. It has a larger screen than the standard Kindle and is currently on sale for its lowest price ever. You can also take a look at the Kindle Colorsoft deal if you think you’d want to read full-color comics on your device as well. It’s a little bit more expensive than the Paperwhite, but also deeply discounted right now.
