Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says strengthening energy security will be among the focus when the country assumes the ASEAN chair in 2027. Speaking after wrapping up this year’s ASEAN Summit in Cebu, he highlighted discussions on a regional fuel stockpile to cushion supply shocks, alongside efforts to boost collective resilience. Leaders also reaffirmed commitments to address the ongoing Myanmar conflict, though progress remains slow. ASEAN’s role, PM Wong noted, is increasingly vital in a more uncertain global landscape.
