She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Tatiana Maslany has opened up about what a return for her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) hero could look like, and what it would take to make it happen.
Written and created by Jessica Gao, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law infamously divided Marvel fans upon its release, with its Rotten Tomatoes score sitting at an 80% from critics (IGN gave it an 8/10) and a 32% from audiences. While some assumed the show would never grow past its nine-episode run, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum clarified last month that it remains “one of our best-performing shows.” Now, as Avengers: Doomsday approaches, fans are on the lookout not only for a Season 2 confirmation but also for any news that She-Hulk could soon join a team-up movie.
The actress behind superhero lawyer Jennifer Walters spoke about her past, present, and future in the MCU during a conversation with The Playlist‘s Bingeworthy podcast. It doesn’t sound like she’s closed the door on She-Hulk just yet, but fans should expect Gao to be involved if she is to return.
“Yeah. I mean, I don’t know,” Maslany said when asked how She-Hulk could return. “I think it would take somebody like Jessica Gao to weave her into that world because she knows that character so deeply and loves her and gets her tone, but there is something about She-Hulk being the star of her own show that makes sense.
