OPPO Find X9 Ultra Singapore launch and price

OPPO has finally announced the details of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, including the Singapore official prices, promotions, and other perks of owning its first-ever Ultra variant that’s sold outside of its home market.

Before we go into its pricing, here’s what to expect from the premium flagship handset.

OPPO Find X9 Ultra, now with 10x optical zoom

OPPO’s ongoing partnership with Swedish photographic manufacturer, Hasselblad, has brought the Find X9 Ultra cameras to new (zoom) depths. According to OPPO, it has the world’s first 50MP 10x optical zoom telephoto. This comes with other rear cameras, including two 200MP sensors (main camera and 3x telephoto), a 50MP ultrawide, and a True Colour Camera for extra colour data capture.

The 10x optical zoom lens uses a Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope structure, allowing the Find X9 Ultra to reduce the 10x lens’ module length by 30% with 99.999% elimination of stray light.

Its 200MP Ultra-Sensing main camera uses a new Sony LYT-901 sensor, with an impressive f/1.5 aperture that exceeds the light intake of rivalling 1-inch main camera sensors on other phones.

Also, using 200MP is the 3x optical zoom (Ultra-Sensing Telephoto), which doubles as a macro shooter with a 15cm minimum focusing distance.

Completing the package is a 50MP ultrawide that captures 56% more light than the preceding Find X8 Ultra’s, and a new True Colour Camera multispectral sensor that offers 5.5x improved dynamic range and 80% lower power consumption than the Find X9 Pro’s.

All these advancements have yet to include the changes and upgrades to its Hasselblad shooting experience, designed to give pro photographers more control, options, and creative flair.

An upgraded Hasselblad phone experience

The Find X9 Ultra gets an improved Hasselblad Master Mode with a new imaging pipeline to reduce over-processing in its images. It can also snap 50MP JPEG MAX and 50MP RAW MAX photos at 14mm, 23mm, 47mm, 70mm, 139mm, and 230mm focal lengths.

This is on top of nine Hasselblad filters to create a signature look, and users can even save custom presets to keep to their photographic styles.

There’s a (completely optional but tempting) Find X9 Ultra Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit (S$499), which comes with a two-stage shutter button on its battery-grip case and a 300mm-equivalent teleconverter with 16 glass elements, giving you up to 30x zoom shots via its 200MP sensors.

For videographers, it can shoot in Dolby Vision HDR 4K60FPS within its 0.6x to 30x zoom range, while its 200MP cameras can do up to 4K120FPS. It’s also the first time an OPPO flagship phone shoots 8K30FPS.

A new addition is O-Log2, a log-recording profile that’s ACES-certified for colour grading. The Find X9 Ultra also have 3D Lookup Table support, letting users add third-party LUTs for colour-grade monitoring.

Still a flagship-grade mobile through and through

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra’s 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED panel has 1-144Hz refresh rate, up to 3,600-nits brightness (peak), plus an extra Display P3 Pro chip to work on colour accuracy, better power consumption, and motion blur reduction. Adding to the display’s appeal are 1.4mm Symmetrical Bezels that are equal on all sides.

Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with an added vapour chamber and an encapsulated thermal unit for improved sustained performance. This is on top of using LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which are some of the latest (and fastest) memory technologies available.

The 7,050mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon battery gets an extra PowerCore Battery Management chip for “guaranteed all-day content creation”, and it’s further supported by 100W wired SuperVOOC and 50W wireless AirVOOC charging.

OPPO Find X9 Ultra has Tundra Umber and Canyon Orange colourways, but both still feature its hexagonal camera housing and certified dust- and water-resistance ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69).

ColorOS 16’s new additions

A new Live Space now combines notifications into a single interactive capsule, helping to declutter the Find X9 Ultra and grant an easier time to flick through notifications.

Folks who need to keep receipts will be heartened by AI Mind Space’s new AI Bill Manager feature, which effortlessly digitises handwritten invoices and also makes it easier to copy out text on digital ones.

AI Mind Pilot takes the pressure off users from having to select an ideal AI model for their complex task by simply giving you all the responses, side by side.

Finally, AI Menu Translation adds a visual guide to foreign food menus to help with ordering food abroad.

While it’s not technically an AI tool, Find X9 Ultra will also natively support photo transfers via AirDrop, making it easier to move its stunning photos and videos to an iPhone-wielding friend. This will be patched in via a future software update.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is available at the following official recommended retail prices (RRPs):

• 512GB storage: S$2,199
• 1TB storage: S$2,599

The 300mm-equivalent teleconverter accessory set (Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit) officially retails at S$499.

Each Find X9 Ultra purchase comes with a free three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes premium features in Google Gemini and 5TB of cloud storage.
