Concert delay and scratched-up Loewe bag leave Stomper fuming after Mariah Carey gig

A Mariah Carey fan’s excitement for the pop diva’s concert at the Singapore Expo on Oct 8 quickly turned into frustration.

First from long entry delays, and later, from discovering that her new Loewe bag had been scratched.

Stomper Anonymous told Stomp she arrived early for the concert, which was organised by Ovation Productions, but ended up stuck in a long queue outside the venue.

Fans were told the concert would start at 8pm, but by 8.30pm, the Stomper and many others were still waiting to get in.

She said it was not clearly stated beforehand that bags larger than A4 size or backpacks were not allowed inside, an issue for many concertgoers coming straight from work on a Wednesday evening.

“It totally never stated what cannot be brought in,” she said.

“Whoever just came from work with a laptop or iPad had to queue again and pay $10 to deposit their items. They didn’t even say this before the concert.”

The Stomper was among those who had to deposit their bags before entry.

“After the concert, we had to collect our bags, and my new Loewe bag was full of scratches – front and back too,” she said.

She added that the concert, scheduled to start at 8pm, only began at around 8.50pm and ended by 10pm.

“It ran for less than one-and-a-half hours,” she said.

“Bad management! Never even heard of this organiser, and it was such a bad system for a big concert.”

Stomp has contacted Ovation Productions for comment.
