The super-slim Galaxy S25 Edge could be the first and last of its kind, if a report from South Korea is to be believed.
Samsung has reportedly decided to scrap plans for its Galaxy S26 Edge model, following lower-than-expected sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The South Korean company is also expected to discontinue the Galaxy S25 Edge once existing inventory is sold.
Hana Investment & Securities estimated that Samsung sold just 190,000 units of the Galaxy S25 Edge in its first month of launch. As of August, total sales are estimated to be around 1.31 million units. This stands in stark contrast to the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup, where the standard, Plus, and Ultra models generated sales of 8.28 million, 5.05 million, and 12.19 million units, respectively.
The Galaxy S26 Edge was initially rumoured to replace the Galaxy S26+ in next year’s lineup. But if this report holds true, Samsung is likely to retain the familiar three-model lineup: the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
First showcased in February and officially launched in May, the Galaxy S25 Edge was believed to serve as a test bed for the Galaxy S26 series, allowing Samsung to gauge market response and refine its design direction.
While the Galaxy S25 Edge impressed with its flagship-grade performance and sleek design, its weak battery life made it a tough sell compared to other Galaxy S25 models and competing Android phones.
