World of Warcraft has officially begun its Housing Feature Test on the Public Test Realm, but players have less than 24 hours to check it out. After a brief delay, all World of Warcraft fans now have the opportunity to try this feature, even if they don’t own the Midnight expansion.
Recently, World of Warcraft revealed Patch 11.2.7, “The Warning.” The final update of The War Within brings tons of exciting content to the game, least of all early access for the Player Housing feature from the Midnight expansion. There was a test planned for this feature that was expected to go live when the patch hit the Public Test Realm, but an unexpected issue caused World of Warcraft to delay the Housing event without word on when it would be rescheduled.
World of Warcraft: Midnight PTR Housing Feature Test Dates
- October 16 at 11 AM PT through October 17 at 11 AM PT
Luckily, World of Warcraft fans didn’t have to wait too long. Early October 16, Blizzard announced that the Housing Feature Test had been rescheduled, and would begin the same day at 11 AM PDT until October 17 at 11 AM PDT. This means that, at press time, the Housing Feature Test is officially underway, so all players are free to check out the in-development system as it will appear during World of Warcraft‘s Housing early access period.
That said, fans will have to act fast in order to participate in the Housing Feature Test. Unlike the original event, which was a 72-hour playtest period between October 13 and 16, fans only have 24 hours to check out this feature, assuming World of Warcraft neither extends it nor ends it early for some reason.
In order to try out the Player Housing feature in World of Warcraft, one must make a WoW account, then create a PTR account on the Games and Subscriptions page in their account settings. Then, on the Battle.net app, simply navigate to World of Warcraft, select “PTR (TWW 11.2.7)” from the drop-down menu, and install the game client. Players don’t need to pre-purchase World of Warcraft: Midnight or even have an active game subscription in order to participate, meaning this is a unique chance to check out Housing in WoW for free.
While it is technically possible that World of Warcraft could run another Housing Feature Test on the PTR before Patch 11.2.7 releases, there has been no evidence suggesting this will happen yet. If it doesn’t, fans will have to wait until Housing early access comes to World of Warcraft on December 2 in order to try it out, and will need to own Midnight in order to fully participate.
