Market research firm TrendForce estimates Apple’s MacBook shipments could grow nearly 8% this year.
According to its forecast, MacBook shipments are expected to rise 7.7%, lifting macOS market share to 13.2%, driven by the recently announced MacBook Neo. Shipments of the new entry-level MacBook could reach between four and five million units this year.
At a time when PC makers struggle to roll out lower-priced notebooks amid component price volatility and supply constraints, TrendForce attributes Apple’s advantage to its tight supply chain and in-house chip design capabilities, which have enabled the company to expand the MacBook lineup with a new entry-level model.
