Xiaomi 17 Ultra Singapore: Pricing and availability

Just like last year, Xiaomi has taken advantage of MWC 2026 to announce the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series. 

If you’ve been keeping up with the Chinese brand, you’ll know that Xiaomi is deliberately skipping a number to match the iPhone’s naming system, resulting in the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra for the global market. 

These new flagship phones showcase the evolution of Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica, with new cameras and even a continuous optical zoom telephoto camera in the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

Additionally, there’s a new Leica Leitzphone Powered by Xiaomi, which is the global version of the China-only Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica. Here’s what you need to know about these three phones.

Xiaomi 17

Xiaomi’s base flagship smartphone has always been a fantastic compact option, and the Xiaomi 17 is no exception. The 6.3-inch CrystalRes OLED display is slightly smaller than last year’s model, but it still retains a 1-120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, while coming in brighter, with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. In fact, Xiaomi has managed to squeeze the bezels even thinner, with all four sides of the bezels just 1.18mm thin. 

Inside, the phone is equipped with the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The three cameras on the back utilise Leica’s VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.67-2.4/17-60 Aspherical lenses. We get a new 50MP main camera (Light Fusion 950 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, OIS) as well as a new 50MP ultrawide camera (Omnivision OV50M sensor, f/2.4). The 50MP telephoto (Samsung ISOCELL JN5 sensor, f/2.0, OIS) remains the same, with 2.6x optical zoom and support for 10cm macro photography.

The battery is considerably larger at 6,330mAh with an increased 16% silicon content in the silicon-carbon battery, with 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. 

Despite all those improvements, Xiaomi has managed to keep the phone’s weight identical at 191g, while retaining the IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The Xiaomi 17 also accepts dual-SIMs (nano/nano or nano/eSIM). 

There are four colourways: Black, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue and the hero Venture Green colour.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the first Ultra model to have a flat display and back, which is a nice change and in line with current phone design aesthetics. 

The Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display is even larger this year, at 6.9 inches (2,608 x 1,200 pixels resolution), with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It’s covered by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0, which Xiaomi claims is 30% more drop-resistant than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. 

It’s also running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The battery inside is similar to the one in the Xiaomi 17, with 16% silicon content, but with a 6,000mAh capacity. The 17 Ultra supports up to 90W wired HyperCharge and universal PD PPS charging, with 50W wireless charging.

The biggest motivation for opting for the Ultra model is its cameras. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra gets a new 50MP main camera (1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor, f/1.6 aperture, OIS) and a new 200MP telephoto camera (Samsung HPE sensor, f/2.39-2.96 aperture, OIS). Additionally, the phone can now support 10-bit LOG video recording at 4K120FPS using the main and telephoto cameras.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the first smartphone to come with a Leica APO optical telephoto lens, which reduces chromatic aberration at the hardware level. Combined with optical zoom across the 75-100mm focal range, Xiaomi boasts that the 17 Ultra will be able to support native 200MP image quality in this range without digital cropping. 

Just like previous Ultra models, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra does have an optional Photography Kit Pro that comes with a protective case, a 2,000mAh Camera Grip, a detachable thumb support, shutter button and video recording button, as well as a 67mm filter adapter ring and a wrist strap. 

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes in Black, White and Starlit Green.

Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi

Usually, the Ultra version is the most premium of the series, but this year, we have a special model. The Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi is a special edition that you have to be extremely lucky to get your hands on, since we have been told by Xiaomi that there are limited units available for sale in Singapore.

Even though the basis of the phone is established on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the Leitzphone is designed by the Leica team from Germany, with inspiration taken from the M-series cameras. The knurled silver aluminium alloy sides provide excellent grip in the hand, and there is a “LEICA CAMERA GERMANY” engraving on one side. Additionally, in a first for Xiaomi, there is the iconic Leica red dot logo on the phone. 

Another big difference between the Leitzphone and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the Leica Camera Ring around the camera bump. This control ring can launch the Camera app and customize settings such as zoom level, EV, shutter speed, filter effects, or bokeh intensity. 

The cameras are identical to the ones found on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but the Leitzphone comes with a Leica Essential mode which offers the ability to achieve the look of the Leica M3 (with Monopan 50 film) or Leica M9 cameras. 

For photographers who are worried about having to prove the authenticity of their photos, the phone has CAI Photo Authenticity Protection technology too, with a dedicated security chip that applies a digital signature to every photo to ensure its origin is genuine and not AI-generated.

Aside from that, the phone is mostly similar to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with the exception of the special Leica Edition theme. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage and has the same 6.9-inch OLED display with 1-120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The battery is identical as well, at 6,000mAh with 90W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. 

Pricing and availability

Preorders start at 10.30pm on 28 Feb 2026 at mi.com, Shopee, Lazada and Xiaomi Stores. Between 28 Feb and 22 March 2026, customers who buy Xiaomi 17 series phones can receive perks such as:

Leica will also be opening preorders for the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi, from 1 to 6 March 2026, via the official Leica website, Leica Stores and select partner channels. A “curated suite of benefits designed to enhance the photographic journey” will also be offered by Leica during this preorder period, although what these are is not clear at this time of writing.

Leica’s official sale of the Leitzphone will start on 7 March 2026. Between 7 to 22 March 2026, Leica will also be offering select freebies that are different from the benefits for preorders.
