Your Hong Kong weekend food guide for February 20-22

As lanterns begin to come down and red packets are tucked away, the post-Lunar New Year lull is the perfect excuse to eat purely for pleasure again. This weekend, trade family banquets for a harbour-view steakhouse reset at Morton’s, dive into carb-laden comfort with new pasta plates at Twist, and close things out with numbing spice and old-world glamour at Grand Majestic Sichuan’s Sunday brunch.

When you’ve had your fill of family banquets and are craving a change of pace, Morton’s The Steakhouse has got you covered with a classic steakhouse reset. The harbour-view favourite is rolling out a limited edition three-course menu, starting with your pick of rich lobster bisque, French onion soup gratinée, a classic Caesar or the signature wedge salad. The mains are all about steak: a 6 oz petite centre-cut fillet mignon or 8 oz prime New York strip with Diane sauce, alongside braised veal osso buco with charred broccolini, roasted half chicken with spring vegetables, Ora King salmon or Maine lobster ravioli.

No Morton’s experience is complete without a selection of sides, and here the options embody old-school comfort food – Parmesan truffle fries, sour cream mashed potatoes, creamed spinach or truffled cream corn – before dessert courses of New York cheesecake, crème brûlée, Key lime pie or, for an added HK$48, the legendary hot chocolate cake.
