One rather dedicated LEGO fan has managed to transform the DeLorean set based on Back to the Future into the iconic Millennium Falcon ship from Star Wars. LEGO is no stranger to creativity, with the entire brand being built around allowing children and adults alike free rein over what they build. Whether it’s the dedicated sets that recreate things from the most popular franchises or simply a box of bricks that are various colors and sizes, amazing things can happen when creative minds are given LEGO bricks. One thing many fans have achieved is transforming one particular set into an iconic set piece from another franchise.
The Star Wars fandom has become almost legendary for this, with the subreddit oopsmillenniumfalcon having various posts of sets being transformed into the legendary ship. LEGO sets such as the Retro Camera set, Harry Potter‘s Cornish Pixie set, or even Stitch from Lilo and Stitch have all been rebuilt into Han Solo’s ship. While these are small in size, bigger sets have also undergone the same treatment, with the Bonsai Tree set being transformed into Pirates of the Caribbean‘s Flying Dutchman, without using any extra pieces. With the LEGO Speed Champions DeLorean recently released, it seemed inevitable what this set would be turned into.
LEGO Fan Transforms New Speed Champions DeLorean Set Into Millennium Falcon
Reddit user Minute_Food_2881 has transformed the Back to the Future LEGO Speed Champions DeLorean into a Millennium Falcon ship, complete with Marty and Doc minifigures. Much like LEGO Lightning McQueen being transformed into a Millennium Falcon, the remnants of the DeLorean are still very noticeable on this ship, with the car’s Flux Capacitor giving the build a unique look. Not only was the LEGO set Back to the Future themed, but so was the user himself, dressing in Marty’s staple jacket and sunglasses. It’s unclear if this build used any extra pieces, as this Reddit user usually states if there were, so perhaps one or two were thrown in to fully complete the build. One thing that’s for certain is that fans are already putting their suggestions in for the next sets they want to see combined.
This Reddit user has made a name for himself by transforming various LEGO sets into other iconic set pieces. His previous attempts have shown off using the LEGO Bonsai Tree set to build Zelda‘s Deku Tree, or even transforming the Millennium Falcon into the USS Voyager. These aren’t just one-off occasions, as his entire account is filled with the many LEGO builds that he has reshaped over time, often requiring no extra pieces. It’s safe to say that Minute_Food_2881 has a knack for combining unlikely franchises with his impressive LEGO building skills, with comments on these posts asking for even more hybrid sets. One particular fan has asked for a Dungeons and Dragons set to be transformed into the LEGO Rivendell set from Lord of the Rings.
It’s amazing the effect LEGO manages to have on the builders, with children and adults alike creating endless possibilities from the same bricks. With huge upcoming builds such as Harry Potter‘s leaked 2026 LEGO sets likely to be announced soon, fans are set to have many great adventures. Aside from Minute_Food_2881, LEGO fans have been transforming sets into other builds for years, even creating entire cities with the variety of sets available. Some fans don’t make other iconic set pieces but rather modify the sets to fit their vision and style, often resulting in crossovers between franchises or even entertainment mediums. Something as simple as converting a DeLorean into a Millennium Falcon once again highlights the innate creativity LEGO inspires, showing that almost anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
