Where to Find Each Material for Scrappy Upgrades
Here’s how to find all the items needed for Scrappy upgrades.
Dog Collar Location (Level 2)
Your chances of finding a Dog Collar in ARC Raiders are higher if you focus on looting Residential areas. These locations are easy to spot; they’re simply clusters of regular houses next to each other. Here are some of the best places to check first:
- Pale Apartments (Dam Battlegrounds)
- Grandioso Apartments (Buried City)
- Santa Maria Houses (Buried City)
- Red Tower (Buried City)
- Ruined Homestead (Blue Gate)
- Raider’s Refuge (Blue Gate)
- Village (Blue Gate)
Lemon and Apricot Location (Level 3)
The best spot for farming Lemon and Apricot in ARC Raiders is the Olive Grove area on The Blue Gate map. Other good Nature locations include Marano Park on the Buried City map, which often contains both ingredients.
Prickly Pears (Level 4)
On the Dam Battlegrounds map, check south of the Research and Administration building for a chance to loot Prickly Pears. Another good spot is near Dune’s End in the Buried City.
Olive (Level 4)
The best place to collect Olives in ARC Raiders is the Olive Grove area on The Blue Gate map.
Cat Bed (Level 4)
Some of the best locations for Cat Beds are Pale Apartments and Ruby Residence in Dam Battlegrounds.
Mushroom (Level 5)
Mushrooms are among the rarest resources in ARC Raiders. One spot with a high spawn rate is the Hydroponic Dome Complex in the Dam Battlegrounds map.
Very Comfortable Pillow (Level 5)
An ideal location to find Very Comfortable Pillows is the Pattern House in the Dam Battlegrounds map.
What Happens When You Level Up Scrappy
By default, Scrappy starts collecting resources as soon as you enter a match and continues while you explore the topside. Leveling up Scrappy doesn’t change this primary function. However, it increases the amount of loot Scrappy adds to each resource slot, allowing you to gather more items in less time at higher levels.
Are Scrappy Upgrades Worth It?
If you’re a new player in ARC Raiders, leveling up Scrappy should be a priority. The free resources this pet rooster provides are essential for crafting vital materials and making up for items lost during failed expeditions. Scrappy also lets you stop worrying about basic resources while exploring the topside, so you can focus on loot and trinkets that actually matter.
Best Way to Level Up Scrappy Fast
Some of the rarest items required for Scrappy’s upgrades are fruits and fungi. These items are a major reason why it can take players a long time to fully upgrade Scrappy, as they’re rare and often appear in small amounts. A good strategy to speed up the process is to wait for a Lush Bloom event. During this limited-time challenge, fruit baskets are more common and usually contain high numbers of Olives, Apricots, Lemons, and Mushrooms.
Tips for Upgrading Scrappy as Quickly as Possible
- Go in with a safe pocket. You don’t want to lose hard-earned fruits or trinkets to the ARC or other players. Make sure your loadout includes a safe pocket or two. If you lack the funds, trade a free loadout augment with Lance at the Clinic to get a Combat MK.1 augment with a safe pocket.
- Try Night Raids. These limited-time events increase the chance of finding rare items, which can help with items like the Dog Collar and Cat Bed. The downside is that ARC and other players are more aggressive in this mode, so be prepared.
- Track requirements. In Scrappy’s upgrade menu, the “Track” option places an eye icon next to the items you need when they appear during your searches.
- Trade with a friend. Ask a friend who has already upgraded their Scrappy to share spare items. Enter the map with a safe pocket, have them drop the items you need, then place them in your pocket and extract.
How to Upgrade Scrappy’s Appearance
Improving Scrappy isn’t just about speed. You can also customize this pet rooster with exclusive cosmetic items, hats, and skins.
To change Scrappy’s appearance, go to the Raider section in the main menu. From there, open the Customization tab and switch to Scrappy’s exclusive items. You’ll need ARC Raiders Cred to unlock them, but most are reasonably priced.
