Echoes in the Shrine & General’s Statue Dungeon Guide

Echoes in the Shrine & General’s Statue Dungeon Guide

Where Winds Meet (or WWM) is a Wuxia RPG that draws a lot of attention due to its particular style and challenging exploration. One of the first challenges players will find, lies hidden in the Merchant Caravan Gathering, just around the corner from the Introductory Quest.

To find and beat this dungeon, and get the General’s Treasure hidden inside, players will first have to complete the Echoes in the Shrine Exploration Challenge/Quest, so here’s all they need to know to enter the General Statue’s Dungeon, and find the Secret Mystic Skill hidden inside.

How To Start Echoes in the Shrine & Access General’s Shrine Dungeon

In Where Winds Meet, players will have to travel to the General’s Shrine in Qinghe, going after Ruby while completing the introductory Main Mission. Once players have found Ruby and talked to her near the dancing horse, they will be able to explore the area around the General’s Shrine a little bit.

The next step is to talk to the man bowing at the entrance to trigger the Echoes in the Shrine quest. Pay attention to what he says about bowing to the General a Thousand times (it’s actually three times, but save this clue for later).

While exploring in Where Winds Meet, players will find hundreds of opportunities, like the General’s Shrine Dungeon. Pay attention to the environmental clues, talk to Wayfarers, and check the map often to find hidden secrets.

Direct your attention to the broken slab of rocks next to the shrine’s entrance (left side of the entrance). Players need to perform a Power Slam to access the ruins, and they can do so by jumping in the air, then hitting Q to smash the ground, revealing a hidden access. Drop down to reveal a room with hundreds of Arrows, armor, and an Investigation spot. Check it out to reveal more information about the Sect operating in the zone.

Now, continue forward and collect the Quivers in the open chest, which contain around 120 Fire Arrows; players will need them to solve the puzzles in this dungeon. The next step to proceed forward is to draw the bow, select the Fire Arrows (Alt and Mouse Scroll while holding the Bow), and hit the overgrown hedges with a fire arrow to open the path.

Descend through the passage and hit the lamp to turn on the light, eliminate the enemy hidden in one of the corners of the hallway, and keep moving forward. At some point, players will see three enemies talking about their misdoings, conveniently standing near three red Jars. These are explosive Jars,. and can be used to disintegrate enemies by firing at them with the Fire Arrows.

Once players have dealt with these enemies, they should proceed forward, then activate the Checkpoint in the hallway. Now, looking at the left side of this passage, there’s a chasm that players cannot simply cross by jumping. Look upwards to spot an overgrown hedge hidden in the dark ceiling, which is obstructing the bridge’s mechanism: Shoot it with the Fire Arrows.

Once the bridge descends, cross the wooden plank carefully. If players fall, they will respawn at the Checkpoint, but lose some health and waste resources. At the end of the bridge, there’s a small room with a Lever Mechanis, interact with it to open the door.

Boss Battle And How To Solve General’s Statue Puzzle

In the next room, there will be some enemies standing near an investigation point. Defeat them and investigate the corpse to gather information and gain the Cloud Steps manual. This Mistic Arts allows players to do a fast jump and sometimes even strafe to cross big gaps. In combat, it can be used to stun enemies, so equip it on one of the Mystic Skill unlocked slots, then move to the next area by climbing the stairs and pushing the door.

In the big room, there will be several enemies and more Explosive Jars. Shoot them with the arrows to dispose of them, then shoot down the enemy perched on the balcony to force him to a single battle. A Boss Fight will begin, so be careful with its power attacks, dodge when it turns Red, and parry when it’s Yellow attacks to stun him.

This Boss is not as challenging as it seems, and once it is defeated, players can collect the rewards on the balconies (one chest at each side), and then go down and pay attention to the praying mat in front of the General’s Statue. Pay your respects 3 times to make the statue move, then claim the Treasure Chest hidden behind it.

Now climb to the balconies (don’t forget to pick the chests at each side) proceed to the next room by pushing the door. There’s a slithery path across the hallways of this dungeon that leads to a ladder. Climb the ladder, push the doors open, and players will receive a notification that they have completed this Dungeon.
