Ex-Sengkang Hospital doctor convicted of voyeurism for taking video of woman showering

“The accused also took steps to evade detection, as he deleted the recording of the victim after she noticed that he was filming her,” DPP Xu told the court.

Soh’s relationship with the victim was redacted in court documents. She cannot be identified due to a gag order to protect her identity.

On April 14, 2024, the woman was showering in the common toilet beside the kitchen in an apartment, when Soh held his phone up to the window connecting the kitchen and the toilet to film her.

The victim noticed the phone near the window and shouted, prompting Soh to exit the kitchen.

She later requested CCTV footage to identify the person who filmed her showering.

By then, Soh had deleted the video from his phone. He later apologised to her and admitted he had recorded her showering.

The woman’s boyfriend made a police report on the same day.

The Straits Times has contacted the Singapore Medical Council for comment.

For voyeurism, an offender can be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or receive any combination of such punishments.
