ROG Xbox Ally X20 avaialble as standalone purchase

ROG first showed off its ROG Xbox Ally X20 and ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 bundle as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations at a private fan event in Singapore, and the exhaustingly-long-to-type bundle was only available as that – a bundle, for the eye-searing price of $3,599.

Well, if you didn’t want the Xreal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, there’s good news: ROG has announced that the Xbox Ally X20 will be available as a standalone purchase, and at a somewhat more palatable price of $2,099. Pre-order starts at 16 November, with general availability from December onwards.

Every pre-order comes with an ROG Saga Omni Plush Pal (worth $54.90) too.

If you haven’t read our previous coverage, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 is given a black-and-gold treatment as part of ASUS’ gaming sub-brand’s 20th anniversary across PC components, peripherals and other ROG hardware.

The differences between the original ROG Xbox Ally X and the X20 aren’t just limited to aesthetics. The latter comes with an improved 7.4-inch Full HD ROG Nebula HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Power wise, it still runs on AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, accompanied by 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD. The X20 also has an 80Wh battery, but crucially, the handheld also introduces drift-resistant TMR joysticks.
