Popular Fortnite Game Mode Is Getting a Stranger Things Crossover

Epic Games has officially revealed that Fortnite will be collaborating with the hit Netflix series Stranger Things in the popular Blitz Royale game mode. Fortnite‘s Blitz Royale first made its debut on June 18, 2025, as a limited-time event, but it was later upgraded to a permanent game mode after becoming quite popular with the community. Blitz Royale put a new spin on the battle royale, as 32 players face off on a smaller-than-usual map over the course of roughly five minutes.

Fortnite is currently in the middle of a major collaboration with The Simpsons, which has taken over the game’s main battle royale modes. Currently, players can experience a whole new map that blends Fortnite‘s island with the town of Springfield. The map has even adopted the animation style seen in The Simpsons, making the game look like a cartoon come to life. The collaboration appears to be a major success for Fortnite, as Epic Games stated that it has seen a sharp rise in new and returning players for the first time in months. It’s likely Epic Games is hoping to see similar results with its upcoming Stranger Things crossover.

Stranger Things Is Coming to Fortnite’s Blitz Royale

In a recent post on Twitter, Epic Games announced that Stranger Things will be coming to Fortnite‘s Blitz Royale game mode. While the short video that accompanied the tweet didn’t include any specific details, the prominent Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR stated that the crossover will make its debut on November 24. Since this isn’t officially confirmed, it’s best to take that date with a grain of salt. With the upcoming release of Season 5 on November 26, rumors of a new collaboration between Fortnite and Stranger Things have been swirling around the internet. In fact, leakers recently claimed to have found a LEGO piece in Fortnite‘s files that suggested the character Dustin could be coming to the battle royale.

Fortnite Stranger Things Eleven Demogorgon

This isn’t the first time Fortnite has collaborated with Stranger Things, as players already have access to skins for Eleven, Hopper, and the Demogorgon. Blitz Royale seems to be an interesting space for crossovers, as Epic Games recently collaborated with Marvel and The Walking Dead in the popular game mode.

In addition to collaborating with major pop culture franchises, Epic Games has debuted a new cosmetic type called Sidekicks in Fortnite. Sidekicks are essentially cosmetic pets that can emote, interact with the world, and follow the player around during a match. These pets can only be seen by the player and their teammates, meaning they can’t give away someone’s position to an enemy. Unfortunately, excitement over the new cosmetic turned into controversy when Epic Games revealed that players would need to lock in certain customization options when purchasing them. This means players seeking a bit more variety might need to purchase the same Sidekick multiple times. Despite a few hiccups here and there, many fans are looking forward to the upcoming Stranger Things crossover and feel optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
