The Horror Game Awards ceremony kicks off in November, but the team’s latest showcase event has arrived, highlighting 100+ horror games. The latest showing, Harvest of Terror, is the brand’s first event since June’s Midsummer Night’s Scream showcase.
As I did for that summer show, I watched every trailer featured in today’s event and pulled out a handful of those I’m particularly excited about.
I purposely didn’t call out games already featured in my summer horror showcase recap or my October horror games calendar, so you should check those out too if you want even more suggestions for upcoming horror games to wishlist.
But for today’s showcase, I’ve settled on 14 horror games that especially caught my eye. Click any game title to jump to its Steam listing and wishlist it for yourself.
Confronted

Confronted looks a lot like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, one of the scariest games I’ve ever played, only with an unexpected touch of base-building. It’s already out, too, and it has a free demo if you’d like to try it first.
Signal Veil

GameSpot contributor Ashley Bardhan spotted this one recently, and I have to concur; it looks really cool. In the Silent Hill-like Signal Veil, you play a teenager who uses her flip phone as both a weapon and a puzzle-solving tool as she explores her haunted school.
The Road of Dust and Sorrow

A 2D pixel art horror game said to be inspired by the genre’s classics, The Road of Dust and Sorrow actually reminds me most of a The Last of Us demake, as it’s up to you to protect your daughter in a world full of the undead.
