Magic’s 10 Most Expensive Reality Fracture Chase Cards

Kindred Judgment — $199.50

At approximately $199.50, the #450 foil version of Kindred Judgment is one of the most surprising inclusions near the top of Reality Fracture‘s price list. The seven-mana white sorcery isn’t necessarily the card most players would identify as the set’s biggest chase, as with much of the set, the price appears to be driven heavily by the scarcity of this particular premium version. The ordinary Kindred Judgment is worth dramatically less, with listings for its #13 variant going for $7.62 while the #322 art card sits even lower, at $7.39.

Such an enormous difference tells you almost everything about this set and how its shattered glass art variants are some of the most appealing cards in terms of value. There is considerable room for this price to move, however. TCGStrat currently shows a $149.99 buylist price against the $199.50 market figure. More supply after release could narrow that gap or push the market price considerably lower, as is expected with most other cards on this list.

Rise of the Deathbringer — $199.99

Rise of the Deathbringer is another fascinating example of Reality Fracture‘s strange early collector economy. Its #454 foil treatment is currently listed at roughly $199.99, putting a card with much less conventional name recognition than Emrakul or Jace into the upper echelon of the set’s premium prices. Again, the important thing is the treatment, as other Rise of the Deathbringer versions sit at only a few dollars, demonstrating just how enormous the premium can be for the most desirable versions from this set.

That also makes this price particularly vulnerable to correction. TCGStrat currently reports only about $29.99 on the buylist side, an extraordinary gap compared with the nearly $200 market quote. In other words, there isn’t enough established sales history yet to treat $199.99 as a durable value. When Reality Fracture officially releases on October 2 and Collector Boosters become widely available, this is exactly the kind of card whose price could dramatically change.

Simulacrum Shaper — $325

At $325, the #460 foil Simulacrum Shaper represents another massive collector premium. The regular versions of the card are nowhere near this territory, with DeckSpec currently listing other Simulacrum Shaper variants considerably cheaper, ranging between $7 and $9. The attraction here is therefore less about a $325 underlying card and more about scarcity, finish and presentation. Reality Fracture has been designed with an unusually broad collection of special treatments, and Wizards specifically highlighted the set’s extensive Booster Fun lineup.

The market is still incredibly immature, though. TCGStrat lists the $325 version with a $149.99 buylist price, meaning dealers aren’t currently valuing it anywhere close to the full market quote. Thus, don’t go out and buy that $450 TCGPlayer surcharged listing, as no one should be treating today’s prices as permanent. Once the October 2 release dramatically increases the number of copies available, $325 could prove either remarkably resilient or turn out to be a pre-release bubble.

Return to the Light Realms — $420.69

The $420.69 price tag attached to the #451 foil Return to the Light Realms is perhaps the most amusing number on the entire list, but the card’s position isn’t a joke. It currently ranks fourth among Reality Fracture‘s most expensive cards according to TCGStrat. The enormous premium comes from the specific foil treatment. Other versions of Return to the Light Realms are much cheaper, like the #323 version that sits around $31.81 and the regular #20 version that’s currently below $20.

Once again, we’re looking at a collector-market phenomenon rather than a simple measure of the card’s playable value. There is already evidence that the $420.69 number could be unstable. TCGStrat reports a $199.99 buylist price, which is less than half the market quote. If substantial quantities enter the market after release, collectors will suddenly have more opportunities to acquire the card, potentially putting significant downward pressure on the current list price.

Curse-Marred Demon — $500

Curse-Marred Demon #456 currently commands approximately $500, putting it firmly among the most expensive cards in Reality Fracture before the set’s official release. The more basic art version of Curse-Marred Demon is worth only around $25, illustrating just how much of this value is attached to the premium treatment itself.

The card’s $500 quote should nevertheless come with a giant asterisk. CardIntel’s September 26 reference-price snapshot also placed this exact version at $500, making it the highest published reference quote on that service. But, much like Simulacrum Shaper, TCGStrat lists a $149.99 buylist price, creating an enormous difference between the advertised market value and what a dealer is currently willing to pay. Even on TCGPlayer things look odd as a foil Curse-Marred Demon is going for an astronomical $1,148.

Such a volatile spread is important. Reality Fracture doesn’t officially release until October 2, meaning the supply picture is still developing. A few more high-end sales could push the price upward, while a flood of Collector Booster openings could send it in the opposite direction.

Hexhaven Invigorator — $562.50

Hexhaven Invigorator has climbed to approximately $562.50 thanks to its #458 shattered glass variant, making it the second-most-expensive Reality Fracture card during pre-release. That’s a remarkable figure considering that other versions of Hexhaven Invigorator are far cheaper, with DeckSpec listing versions such as #330 around $101 and #106 at $43. The difference is almost entirely about the premium treatment and its scarcity, which is an important theme running throughout the entire list.

Then again, that current $562.50 is anything but stable. TCGStrat currently lists a $299.99 buylist price for the Invigorator, roughly half the current market quote. The card could therefore experience a major correction once October 2 arrives and supply expands. For now, though, Hexhaven Invigorator has established itself as one of the set’s premier collector chases.

Omnipresence — $1,000

The #459 foil for Omnipresence is currently listed at an astonishing $1,000, highlighting it as the most expensive Reality Fracture card on TCGStrat’s latest price snapshot. Fortunately, there is at least some logic behind the enormous number beyond simple rarity. Omnipresence is one of the set’s more intriguing high-powered cards, effectively offering green a way to cast spells for free and opening the door to potentially explosive combo turns. With enough creatures on the battlefield, it can repeatedly cast cards like Acererak, the Archlich for free, or turn something as enormous as Enter the Infinite into a zero-mana way to draw through your deck, potentially chaining spell after spell together.

But the $1,000 price remains extraordinarily speculative. The standard Omnipresence is listed at around $25, while another premium version sits around $60, showing how dramatically the particular treatment changes the price. TCGStrat also puts the #459 foil’s buylist price at only $249.99. With Reality Fracture releasing Oct. 2, this is perhaps the clearest example of a prerelease price that could look very different once the market has had time to breathe.
