One of Magic the Gathering’s biggest releases of 2026, Reality Fracture, will see the franchise’s iconic Planeswalker Jace create the Echoverse, a mirrored version of the current MTG universe in which world-defining events have been rewritten. In a press Q&A at this year’s MagicCon Vegas, Magic head designer Mark Rosewater said that a “What If” set has been one of the most requested by fans in the franchise’s history, and Reality Fracture satisfies that need. However, while the Echoverse creates a ton of possibilities, this release will intentionally be very focused.
