Sony has announced a new flagship home theatre system called the Bravia Theatre Trio, and it isn’t quite like the typical soundbar design that we are familiar with.
Instead of relying on a single soundbar chassis, the Bravia Theatre Trio uses a three-speaker wireless configuration consisting of dedicated left, centre and right speakers. Sony says the setup was designed specifically for today’s larger TVs, with a focus on creating a wider soundstage and clearer dialogue without requiring a traditional multi-speaker surround system.
The Bravia Theatre Trio is positioned as a premium cinema-focused audio solution developed alongside sound creators from Sony Pictures Entertainment. According to Sony, the collaboration “influenced the tuning and overall design of the system”, with the goal of bringing home the same spatial audio experience intended during film production.
