Two hawker centre cleaners reportedly rushed to put out a BMW fire at the Geylang Bahru Market and Food Centre carpark on Saturday (Sept 26).
One of the cleaners, 38, told Shin Min Daily News that he was collecting used bowls and plates when he noticed smoke coming from the carpark.
After realising that a car had caught fire, he and a colleague grabbed 11 fire extinguishers from the hawker centre’s fire equipment cabinet and ran to the scene, Shin Min reported.
Several members of the public also stepped in to help put out the blaze.
