Review | Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom movie review – Aardman’s hilarious horror spoof

In the run-up to Halloween, all the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm are getting into the spooky spirit. The Farmer (voiced incomprehensibly by John Sparkes) has tickets to Mossingham’s Halloween Hoedown but is reluctant to ask the Vet (Nina Sosanya) to be his date because of his receding hairline.

Shaun (Justin Fletcher) and the rest of the flock, meanwhile, have been cultivating a secret pumpkin patch with an eye to fashioning jack-o’-lanterns. But when an altercation between the Farmer and his belligerent goat sees their crop destroyed, Shaun has to think fast.

In the rundown windmill on the edge of the farmland, Shaun finds a book on “Homemade Science”. Following a night of frantic experimentation, the desperate sheep emerges with a potion that he decants into a discarded bottle of the Farmer’s hair tonic.
