A male car driver had to be rescued from his car wreckage after an accident involving his vehicle and another car in Kovan on Thursday (Sept 10) night.
He was later seen being arrested at the scene by police officers and led onto a police van.
The incident happened at about 11.50pm at the junction of Upper Serangoon Road and Hougang Street 21.
When AsiaOne arrived at the scene at about 12.20am on Friday, the man had just been rescued by Singapore Civil Defence Force firefighters using rescue equipment.
A traffic light with a “No U-turn” signage mounted on it laid fallen across two lanes, with a visible dent at the lower-third area of the pole.
Debris were strewn across two lanes of the road in the direction towards Hougang, and on one lane of the carriageway towards Braddell Road.
At least four police fast response cars, one fire engine and an ambulance were present at the scene.
