As of 3:20 UTC Epic Games reports that this issue has been resolved. Original article is as follows.

Fortnite‘s Simpsons crossover event is plagued by login issues, with players reportedly unable to log in to their Epic Games accounts. The login issues seem to have begun around 20:45 UTC on November 1, and appear to affect most players. Epic Games has stated that it is aware of the issue and is currently working to restore access for Fortnite players unable to log in.

Long login queues are familiar territory for popular new game releases, but Fortnite developer Epic Games has a strong track record of keeping servers accessible for new content drops. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this Simpsons event, with Fortnite‘s map being replaced with a Simpsons-themed one and a new battle pass featuring cosmetics from the animated show also available to players. It’s unclear if this influx of players is contributing to the prolonged server outage.

Fortnite’s Login Issues Leave the Simpsons Crossover Event with a Rough Start

According to Epic Games’ official X account, the company is still working on restoring access to the Epic Games Store as well as several other games from the publisher, which include Rocket League and Fall Guys, in addition to Fortnite. The scope of this outage suggests that it’s not simply a Fortnite issue, but rather an Epic Games-wide problem that is unfortunately affecting the start of Fortnite‘s Simpsons mini-season.

Fans who sat through Fortnite‘s scheduled downtime prior to the start of this event have expressed their frustration with the ongoing inability to log in by taking to the game’s subreddit to share their login experience. Many are lamenting wasting an entire day waiting to log in before ultimately giving up and trying again tomorrow. Some players report even getting to the point where they could buy the new Simpsons battle pass before getting kicked out of the server due to an error.

As a result, the subreddit has disabled posting, likely as an attempt to contain the volume of posts complaining about the login outage.

Although this mini-season is off to a rough start, it’s unfair to judge the overall quality of the Simpsons crossover event based on launch-day login struggles. Fortnite will still have plenty of time to redeem the event since it runs until November 29, however, it’s possible Epic Games may extend the event’s runtime to account for the time lost during the server outage. While it is frustrating to miss out on launch-day gameplay, this crossover event is still one of the most exciting Fortnite collaborations to date.
