Chinese Woman Who Went Viral For Outburst At KLIA Was Believed To Have Missed Mental Health Medication

Police investigations later found that the individual was a 27-year-old Chinese woman who is believed to have a mental health condition. She had arrived in Malaysia with a friend as a tourist on August 6 and was supposed to fly back to China on August 18.

Police also confirmed that she was not under the influence of drugs.

According to her friend, the woman had forgotten to take the medication prescribed by her doctor, which may have contributed to her erratic behaviour.

Authorities suspect that it may have contributed to her behaviour at the airport, although they did not confirm that it was the definite cause.

She was later taken to Kajang Hospital in Malaysia, where she was admitted to a psychiatric ward for further treatment. Her condition is now stable, and she remains warded. The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia has also been informed of the incident.

While her outburst may have been shocking to those around her, the woman’s case also serves as a reminder that there may be more to a situation than what is captured in a short viral video.
