Mr B also said the boys appeared to be treating the road like they were on a casual ride in the park.

He was also concerned that they were not riding in a single file on the left side of the road. They were seen riding in the middle of the road and did not signal with their hands when changing lanes.

“They underestimate the danger and seriousness that can impact their future permanently,” he said.

Loved ones will be the ones affected the most

Mr B warned that an accident could leave a young rider paralysed or result in even more serious injuries.

He also added that their loved ones would be the ones suffering the most for a “foolish act” on the road.

He shared that he did not report the incident to any authorities as he wanted to “give them a chance”.

The contributor added that he believed incidents involving young riders on roads are becoming increasingly common.

Mr B also observed that, despite many drivers on the road, no one seemed to have posted about the incident.

When asked whether this was his first time encountering something like this, he said: “Not the first time. I saw old people riding e-scooters along Kallang Bahru area before.”

Cyclists and PAB riders must wear helmets on roads

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), all cyclists and power-assisted bicycle (PAB) riders must adhere to a set of rules when riding on roads.

For example, all cyclists and PAB riders must wear a helmet when cycling on roads.

Cyclists and PAB riders are also advised to ride single file on single-lane roads and during bus lane operating hours.
