Save more than S$830 with a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and SPH news subscription

By now, a seasoned HardwareZone reader would have heard of the July 2026 tech talk of the town, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. This foldable smartphone takes on a passport-shaped form factor that promotes media consumption.

As it so happens, SPH Media has teamed up with Samsung to get you a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 (512GB) with an SPH News subscription to The Straits Times or The Business Times, bringing you savings of more than S$830 in the process.

Not only is that bundled price cheaper than paying in full for the S$2,798 (512GB) phone, but you also get a 24-month digital news subscription to experience the Galaxy Z Fold8’s competence in handling mixed media content through a daily paper.

This bundle has two options for payment timelines, and must be paid via Grab:

Both options lead to the same final cost, and it comes with 1x ST or BT subscription with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 (512GB). It’s only for a limited time, so don’t say we never tell you.

Is this available to new and/or existing subscribers?

Yes. If you were planning to renew your digital news subscription and also get a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, this bundle is even more attractive since you save a whole lot more in one go. There may be a one-time transition fee depending on your subscription status, which you can check here.

How did you arrive at the “more than S$830” savings?

Also, the phone’s retail price of S$2,798 means you save at least S$113.98 if you don’t count the cost of your 24-month digital news subscription (S$717.60 over 24 months, per SPH Media’s subscription portal).

The same S$2,684.02 total outlay applies even to a subscription with The Business Times, which is priced higher at S$32.90 per month. With this bundle, you save more than S$900 (S$903.58 to be precise).

Finally, we based on these prices because the bundled subscription allows you to log in to your ST/BT allotment across four devices.

The “Digital” and “Digital + Print” bundle are the same price? Sure a not?

Yes. However, the promotion does not include the monthly physical newspaper delivery charge of S$3 to S$5. The delivery fee is dependent on your residential type (the property where the newspaper is delivered).

Must I follow its monthly payment terms?

You can opt to pay in full, upfront, and it’s available to select this during your Grab payment.

But if you’re asking if you need to pay for what you buy, then obviously yah lah. Failing to pay or early termination can incur a termination fee on top of the full S$2,684.02. There are no refunds as well.

What happens when the subscription ends?

Per the FAQ, the package ceases if it’s paid via Grab’s PayLater. If it’s paid directly through SPH’s payment mode, the subscription continues and is automatically renewed. Notice is given 30 days before renewal.

The three main colourways: Lavender, Graphite, and Cream. The fourth colourway, Pistachio, is a Samsung-only exclusive that is not a part of this promotion. You can find the fourth colourway here.

At the time of publishing, this promotion is only for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, and only for the 512GB variant. Also, it’s only available to the 24-month subscription of either The Straits Times or The Business Times.
