HashKey Holdings, Hong Kong’s largest licensed crypto exchange, said it is seeking to acquire Singapore-based Asia Pacific Exchange (APEX) to expand its regulated financial market infrastructure footprint in Asia.
In a statement, HashKey said its wholly owned subsidiary, HKDAG (Singapore) Pte Ltd, has signed a non-binding framework agreement with APEX and its major shareholder regarding the proposed acquisition of the exchange operator’s entire equity interest.
The proposed deal remains subject to the execution of definitive agreements, completion of due diligence, and approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
HashKey said no definitive agreement has been signed and the transaction may or may not proceed.
