Fortnite has confirmed that three weapons will be getting buffs, shaking up the combat balance in matches. Over the years, Fortnite has featured a large roster of inventive weapons, and buffs and nerfs have continued to change which ones are more desirable and useful.
Sometimes these kinds of changes can completely make or break a weapon, but this time around, Fortnite is seeking to bring more power to players. The announcement of this trio of weapon buffs comes on the same day that Fortnite confirmed a Simpsons crossover, so fans of the battle royale have had plenty to celebrate.
Fortnite Has Confirmed Buffs for Three Weapons
- Thorn Ripper
- Hand Cannon
- Wood Stake Shotgun
The three weapons getting a power increase are all vastly different, but their incoming upgrades are bound to make regular users of the items excited. The newest of the trio is the Thorn Ripper, which was added earlier this month. While the Hand Cannon and Wood Stake Shotgun have been around for a few years now, they continue to be fun guns to use when available. Fortnite has been filled with great additions this month, as the annual Fortnitemares event has been in full swing.
The Thorn Ripper and Wood Stake Shotgun buffs mainly focused on increasing damage, with the former also improving reliability, while the Hand Cannon will be faster to equip and is intended to be more accurate. Most of Fortnite‘s best additions this month have been with horror-themed skins, but the announcement of weapon buffs could bring a better challenge. As Season 4 of Chapter 6 begins to quickly come to a close, these weapon upgrades could be a solid way to end the season with a bang during matches.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5 starts on November 1.
There are still a few more days left to jump into the spook-filled Fortnitemares event, and there is now even more firepower available to cause some extra havoc. Once Fortnitemares is over, The Simpsons will immediately take its place, and when that event is underway, it will be interesting to see what is in store for players this year. Fortnite‘s longevity has hinged on its many crossovers with pop culture franchises, and it will be just as fascinating to see what lies beyond the upcoming Simpsons crossover. Until then, for players who love the Thorn Ripper, Hand Cannon, and Wood Stake Shotgun, now is a great time to use the weapons as much as possible before they’re either vaulted or get changed again.
