Khatib’s having a pasar malam from 5-19 July*, so of courseeee I had to travel up north just to see what was good 😄 Machine Printed Candy – fruit flavoured candy lollipops printed in your cartoon character of choice – Taste-wise it was essentially just a fruit flavoured lollipop hahahah, but I looove the ingenuity and concept! It’s one of those things where the experience is more fun than the final product. Kool-Aid Pineapples by Kai Emilio – Fresh slices of pineapples soaked in a jar of Kool-aid, an imported powder cordial drink. There’s been so much hype around this, I think the tantalising neon-like colours def come into play hahaha. We tried cherry! Fresh tropiccal pineapple with a nice cherry candy flavour following through – but it’s just abit simple in essence so there wasn’t much for me to talk about hahahah. But I love how fun the concept itself is! Macaroni Goreng (Boolatz Kitchen)- My fav affordable option at the pasar Malam, their macaroni goreng is always a hit for me – tastes super homely and comforting! Creamy tom yum pasta (The Pasta Lab) – I rarely feature pasta dishes, mainly because I feel alot of them aren’t done well, but omg I Was pleasantly surprisedddd by this. Pasta was perfectly al dente, the creamy tom yum had a nice blend of fresh aromatics and creamy punchy tangy tom yum flavour, it was just sooo flavourful. Probably the best pasta I’ve had in a while! Bang Bang sauce burrito (That’s My Burrito) – A loadedddd burrito with your choice of fillings, we got spicy chicken with bang bang sauce. Was caught off guard by how creamy and outright delicious this was?? The bang bang sauce had a savoury tangy and slightly sweet flavour, combined with the spicy chicken to give some heat, and the melted cheese just made this super scrumptous hahaha. It’s honestly nothing complicated, just ingredients kinda slapped together, but it was sooooo unexpectedly yummy hahahah Overall, quite impressed with the variety of food available at this Pasar Malam.
