
CloverWorks has revealed its new anime, The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All (a.k.a. Green Yuri), will feature a Nirvana song as its opening theme, and according to Dave Grohl, Kurt Cobain would have loved it.
The Japanese animation studio behind popular projects like Black Butler, My Dress-Up Darling, Spy x Family, and more shared a reveal trailer, along with a host of other details, during Anime Expo 2026. An adaptation of the viral X/Twitter manga authored by Sumiko Arai, The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All is now set to premiere January 2027, and it’ll come with a little help from legendary grunge outfit Nirvana.
